Write letters to the local newspapers, and your representatives!
We’re losing over 174 acres of open space a day in New York State; local communities need more assistance to be able to preserve their natural character. We'll post action alerts from time to time on particular issues, but feel free to do your own research. Your politicians can't represent you unless they know what you think!
Do you have a realm of expertise you would like to offer? We’re looking for people to serve as agency contacts, provide legal advice, organizational support, offer their knowledge of ecology and natural resources to assist in the documentation of the woods, assist in our fundraising and budgeting activities, help give presentations to community groups, etc. Let us know how you can be of help!
No time but still want to show your support?
The Manlius Greenspace Coalition is 100% volunteer-run. However, to be credible we often have to hire experts and lawyers, it costs money to put on programs, and we someday hope to have the expense of buying land! We are a 501(c)3 tax-deductible nonprofit, and would greatly appreciate your financial support.
