Open Space and Outdoor Recreation in and near Manlius

"Now I see the secret of making of the best persons.  It is to grow in the open air and eat and sleep with the earth."
                                                                                                              - Walt Whitman

The Manlius Greenspace Coalition encourages the enjoyment of our local open spaces!
Please take only photographs, and leave only footprints (and not even those if you can help it!)

The North Country Trail

The North Country Trail is a national trail currently under development.  A completed portion runs through Canastota and Cazenovia, approximately 10 miles from Manlius and connected to Fayetteville by the Old Erie Canal State Historic Park.  Part of the trail passes through the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park and the Nelson Swamp Unique Area.  It is promoted and maintained by the Central NY North Country Trail Association.
